Lattice Card

Have I ever told you how much I love Valita's Designs blog?
She has so many neat ideas & lots of tutorials.  Here's the Tutorial for this card and more.
This is one of her card designs using Nesties. This is the first one of these cards that I've made and there are things about it that I don't like... the inking on the cutouts for one, I think it would look better with a lighter, more delicate colour. Also the embossing on the right side.  That was an afterthought and I thought it would look nice with a few vines etc. just on one side.  Well, it doesn't.  I should have done the whole thing before I added the cutouts etc.
Oh well, I'll know for next time.

 Here is a closer view...

The flowers are Prima and I punched the leaves out with my M.S. punch then inked the edges.

Here's the inside.
So that I don't cover up the green that shows through at the front I will write my message on the back.

Now on a different note....
Yesterday we had one heck of a strong chinook wind here in Alberta. I heard on the radio this morning that it did lots of damage.  Well I believe it because look what it did here in my backyard....

Fortunately this is not a vehicle that we use, in fact, we have been trying to sell it.  We thought that idea was now toast, but then our neighbour came over and made us an offer.  Plus, my hubby now has more firewood stacked up for his shop, so it's not all bad.

Have a lovely day everyone!

Silver Wedding

Our friends celebrated their 25th anniversary recently.
I decided to do a tri fold shutter card for them. I used a silver & white paper for most of it, plus white card stock embossed with my swiss dots folder.  *Always & Forever* and *25* are cut out with my new Cricut cartridge *Sophisticated*.
I wrote my message on the back.

The bling is from Michael's and the butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch. The little swirl design on the black is an EK Success border punch...just one end of it.
I added this card to *Make it Monday*

Here's a video tutorial if you'd like to give it a try.

That's all for now folks,

My Very First Mini

......so don't look too close! lol

This is a coffee filter album.  Each filter has a pocket for your recipe cards.  The filter is used as a pattern to cut out your backgrounds.  (be sure to use each individual filter as your pattern because the filters are not all exactly the same size)
I made this before I got into colouring so I used digi images (coloured) that I purchased from Trina Clark Designs.  Her prices are very reasonable, and if you like *country* you'll love what she does.

Thanks for popping by, have a lovely day and keep warm!  If you are also in Alberta, you'll know exactly what I mean. Brrrrrr!

P.S.  I just realized that I had a tutorial saved on my computer, so here it is....better late than never!

See you soon,

Tri Fold Mini Album

I saw a you tube video on how to make this album.  I have made tri-shutter cards and this is basically 2 cards joined together.  I thought it looked pretty neat, & like to try something different once in a while, so I gave it a go.

Here's a couple more pictures...

I like the idea of this album, it's a neat design, but there is very little room for pictures.  The smaller ones shown here are very small.  If I were to make another one I would definitely make it taller to accommodate larger pics.

The papers are from DCWV *Blossom Song* and Recollections *Simply Autumn*

I have to run now, if I have time later, I may post the very first mini album I made.  Thanks for checking in with me today.

Painter Meg!

As soon as I saw this cute little girl I knew I had to make a card for my friend.  She is a house painter by trade so this image along with the sentiment are just perfect for her.

The girl is from Mo's  I can't remember where the sentiment came from...sorry.  Most of my sentiments are from either Ginger or TLC....links are on the right.
I used my Nesties to cut out both the girl and the sentiment, then popped them up on top of the stitched blue panels.

A closer look...

Thanks for dropping by my blog today &
have a lovely evening!

How it all started......

Hi everybody,
I just wanted to share with you the circumstances that led up to the making of the egg album (last post)

It all started with this photo.....

My daughter Debi, was given the egg masher (aka Mashy) and the egg whisk (aka Whisky) from a friend as a gift.  (The company named them)  She was washing them in the sink and noticed that it looked as if they were both taking a bath, so she just had to take a picture of this cute scene to send to her friend.  After that, one thing led to another and Whisky & Mashy have taken on a life of their own...as you will see from the pictures below.

Enjoy!

Drying off after their bath.

At first they were a little unsure of their new surroundings, and Mashy wasn't quite sure what to make of his cousins.

Some things were just too much and caused them much anxiety.

Oh, horrors!!!!  What have they done to him?

Surely this one can't be related to me!

But soon they settled in and moved into their new house on the front step.

They celebrated by having a house-warming party, and even had a cake made.....which they agreed was very yummy!

Unfortunately, the bakery made a mistake and put "Happy Anniversary" on the cake, but they were able to get a good deal on it, so they took it anyway.

Mashy is all smiles and thoroughly enjoying the party.

Once in a while they take a trip with their people, here they are on their way to Saskatchewan.

Enjoying a snack at the mall.

A family photo. They were joined here by their buddy, Bacon, he's on the far left.

Here they are proudly showing off a new addition to their family....NO! it's not a baby egg, it's their pet rock!!

Well, that's all the pictures for now folks.

Now for a surprise..... as we speak, a movie starring Whisky & Mashy is in the process of being produced.  We are sooo egg-cited and hope it will be released soon.  You are all invited to the premier.  Hope you will be able to attend.

Have a super day & thanks for dropping by.

*Over Easy Peasy* Mini Album

Most of you will be familiar with these cute egg kitchen tools.
My daughter and her friend have been having fun taking funny pictures of them.  It's hard to 'splain, so I'll just leave it at that!! lol
Anyway, I thought I would make her an album for some of her pictures, so here it is.  Again, lots of pictures here, you can click on them to see a larger version.....

I added red flock to the hat.

This is a very easy album to make....it has lots of room for pictures.
Here is the link to the youtube video tutorial.
I combined pictures I found online with my own digi images and embellishments.  The papers are ones I had in my stash... various makes.
Hope you enjoy looking at these pictures, I sure enjoyed making this album.

Have a great day & come back soon.
