Twist & Pop-Up Card

Hi Friends,
Hope everyone is well.

Here in Alberta we have been in a deep freeze lately with temperatures of around -40 with wind chill.  Needless to say it's a good time to enjoy scrapping in your jammies where it's nice and warm.  It is supposed to *warm* up soon....that's if you call zero warm!  After what we've had, it will feel almost spring like!

My latest card is one that I've seen on Pinterest, but never tried till now.  It looks difficult, but it isn't.....thanks to all the tutorials you can find on Youtube.   Here is my version of a Twist & Pop-Up Card.

The papers I used are *Authentique Genuine Collection* 6x6 pad.
Lots of denim & navy with a little bit of mustard.
The die is *Colchester Houses* from Poppy Stamps.

I have also been working on something else...a rag quilt.  I'll share that with you on my next post.

Thanks for stopping by today!

*Red Sky at Night*

Hello!
Hope you are all having a good day.

Unfortunately I'm sick with a *flu bug* at the moment, some days have been worse then others, but I managed to get into my craft room on one of the *good* days and this is the card I made.

Hope you like it.

My inspiration came from this photo that I came across of a beautiful Alberta sunset.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to visit.
Bye for now!

Serenity!

Good afternoon to all my visitors!

I love *scene* cards, and Ive been watching tons of videos lately, hoping to learn how to do them.....and it seems to me that really, anything goes!
So I decided to just go for it!

Here's what I came up with.

First I stamped the trees, then without re-inking the stamp I stamped again to make it look as if there are trees in the background.  Then I added the mask for the moon, using a post-it note.  Next, I sponged on the colours, using light blue, denim blue and lavender. Then came the die cut deer and the sentiment, both popped up on dimensionals.  Lastly, I layered with black & pink and added it to a black card.
The finished card measures approx. 5.25" x 6".

Thanks for popping in today, hope you like what you've seen and I hope you have a *lovely rest of your day*!

Hello Friends!
Hope you are all feeling good today.

I have a new card to show you.   It is a stacked die cut card by Jennifer Mcguire.  I followed Jennifer's video tutorial which you can find here.

I didn't have the same die as Jennifer used, but I think it turned out quite well with this one.

If you look closely you can see the shimmer on the words, I used *Wink of Stella*

Here you can see how the die cut words are layered.

Thanks for dropping by today!

Triple Panel Card

Hello Friends!
Hope you are having a nice day.

I tried a different fold for this card....not sure of the name, I've seen it called a triple panel fold card, also a pop out card.  Whatever the name, it's a very fun and easy card to make.  I've included a tutorial below.

The black polka dot paper is from the *Chalkboard Tableau* stack....a Hot Buy from Michaels.  I stamped the smaller white square with a stampin'Up stamp, sorry, don't know the name of it.
The cute bird is from the *Honeycomb Happiness* set, also from stampin'Up & coloured with Copic markers.
The sentiment is from the *Wetlands* stamp set.

side view

Here is a quick tutorial.

First, cut card stock to 8" x 5 1/2"

Score at 2" - 3" - 5" - 6"

Fold from the left.... valley - mountain - mountain - valley

Now we can cut the designer paper pieces as shown above...
3 pieces designer paper @  1½" x 5 ¼"
1 piece of card stock @  3½" x 3½"
1 piece designer paper @ 3¼" x 3¼"
1 piece of card stock @ 2⅝" x 2⅝"
1 piece designer paper @ 2½" x 2½"

Glue all the pieces, using whatever glue you prefer to use. I used dimensionals to pop up the top square piece.

Now you can decorate. I cut out a couple of flowers from the designer paper and stamped a sentiment, then popped these up with dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit today.

Lavender Thanks!

Good Morning!

A quick post for today.
Here is a clean & simple thank you card.
The papers are from the First Edition *Daydreams* stack.
The die is *Thanks Scallop Border* from Simon Says Stamp.
I popped up the tag, which comes with the papers.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a nice day!

A New Fold!

Hi Friends,

Here's a cute card that I saw on Pinterest.

It is very easy to do and there's a video tutorial here

I don't have a 2" circle punch, so I used my scalloped 2" punch.  It is better to use the straight circle, then it doesn't get caught up when you open your card.

The papers are *Sweet Mint*  by Craftsmith  A *hot buy* from Michaels.  The flower die is *layered flower* from Penny Black. I used dimensionals for each of the 3 flower layers.  The stamp is from Stampin' up.

Thanks for stopping by.

This is a corner fold card, very easy and quick to make.
Here's a link to a video tutorial.

Another corner fold card

Here's my latest card.

Belleek Style Card!

Good morning!

I have another card to show you today.

I love this technique, known as Belleek, after the Belleek pottery in Ireland.
It has a look of porcelain, achieved by brayering ink on the inside of your embossing folder, then running it through your BigShot or Cuttlebug.

I cut out the frame with one of my dies, as well as the flowers, leaves and scroll.  The butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch.

A closer look at the flowers

Thanks for stopping by today!

Country Anniversary!

Hello again,

Well, I'm back with a new computer, so I can post again.

This card is one that I made for a friends' anniversary recently.  I found the idea from a card made by Jaydekay on Splitcoast Stampers.  I loved the country feel of it, and I have to admit that I copied it very closely. Hope she doesn't mind.  ;)
Here is the one Jaydekay made...

Now here is my version

I used mostly heart punches for the chicken and used cut up strips of card stock for the fence.

I'll be back soon with a couple of new cards to show you, in the meantime.....
take care!

Computer issues!

Hi there, it's been a while!

I've been trying to post for a while now, but when I click on 'new post' nothing happens.  I think it is because my computer needs to be updated to another operating system.  I tried to do it, but it seems that my computer has some problems........at least I think that's the reason.  If anyone out there knows a way to get things to work again, I would appreciate it.

I'm using my iPad now, but unfortunately I can't post pictures, so I'll say bye for now and hope that I can get this fixed before too long.
